I was recently sent over the new EP (The Cherry Bomb EP) from Ohio garage rockers Wheels On Fire. This is my first listening and I must say, these tracks are sick. They have the guitars, the organs, and the grainy voices you'd come to enjoy from the genre, and they execute these songs with confidence. The songs are short, concise and reminiscent of 60s or 70s jangly rock, including short solos and talk of motorcycles.
It's refreshing to hear this type of music after exploring some weird stuff for awhile. Definitely give this band a listen, and pick up the new 7-inch over at Kind Turkey! And check out their Myspace for some listening tidbits.
